Intermediate Hand building 5.31 - 7.12
May 31 - July 12 — 8 weeks
Saturdays 12:00pm-2:30pm
This is a 8 week hand building course intended for intermediate level students. It’s important to have a basic understanding about working with the material. Techniques to have under your belt for this class are coil building, attaching/slip & scoring, and slab building basics.
During this series we will cover a handful of projects that are more in-depth and involve multiple hand building techniques. As always deviation is warmly welcomed - if you would rather work on a project of your choosing that can be arranged.
Examples of projects and techniques we will cover are water etching, kurinuki tea cups, making our own artist stamp/signature, and large works - anything larger than 10 inches.
The studio is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle 1423 10th Ave Seattle, WA
Included: 8 week hand-building class, clay, firing, glazing and tools in the studio for your use. Open studio access.

Past student testimonials:
“Taylor is a natural facilitator. She is an engaging, calm and incredibly supportive presence. The thing I appreciate most is how they balance leaving room for students to explore this medium while always staying close by should questions arise (and they always do!). I feel so grateful for my time in this studio. If you're at all interested in hand building, I would 11/10 recommend Taylor's classes and workshops!” - Priyanka
“Taylor provides a comfortable studio space and provides everything you need to work with different hand-building techniques. I was able to spend quality time exploring forms and getting guidance with challenging projects I wanted to try out. It was amazing to see what everyone in the class was able to create with Taylor’s wisdom! The class is a good balance of instruction and focus time. I appreciated Taylor accommodating missed classes with a few open studio options.” - Vivian
